This summer, we have the fantastic opportunity to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, like our children have never experienced before. Shoot, like the adults have never experienced before! We are transforming the campus of ChristChurch Presbtyerian in Dalton, GA into a Judean Marketplace in 29 AD. We will be able to feel, smell, and see the sights that those touching the physical hands of Jesus did. The Gospel of Jesus Christ transcends age, gender, race and background. We're so excited and we want you to be a part of it!
This will be June 2-5 from 5:30pm-8:00pm. There is a beyond great need for adult volunteers. The opportunities are endless, leading a group of children as their "mom" or "dad" for the week, "opening up" a booth as a merchant for the kids to come and build or purchase items they need, leading a art project, acting in the dramas, cutting fruit in the kitchen, orchestrating the carpool line, holing babies in the nursery, teaching our kids how to make bread or scaling fish in our marketplace. We need all hands in, for this to be a life changing week for us all.
Our prayer is that this week of engaging with Jesus Christ in such an intimate way will change hearts, deepen our relationships with Christ, and draw us into deeper community with one another. Help me spread the word, create enthusiasm, and get volunteers plugged in as we prepare to walk along the streets with Jesus and our children, and engage His life, teaching and healings in a REAL and transformative way. It will be a week that you will NOT want to miss, I promise. Please invite any neighbors, coworkers, family and friends to be a part of this special week with us.
If you haven't signed up as a volunteer yet, please follow this link:
Now, just to give you a bit of a preview, this is a video of First Presbyterian Greenville's Marketplace in 2005. This is Jesus appearing to Mary after His resurrection. Please watch how the kids are engaged, still and leaning in to see what Jesus says and does next. Marketplace is a week of our children leaning in, and drawing closer to the life of Jesus Christ. I'm praying an exhaustive amount that this week of Marketplace, will be a starting point for our children to know Jesus in a more intimate and real way. That they will not be able to quench their thirst for the knowledge of Christ.
