As we are quickly approaching Advent and the Celebration of the birth of the Savior, I'm working on a project here with our kids. I'm making a video on what our children see, believe and love about Jesus Christ. It's been SO sweet and so eye opening as to what they think God looks like, and what the Lord has done for them. I'm so thankful to be a part of it all!
I challenge you to bring up these questions at home. There are no wrong answers-- as to who God is to them. The Lord reveals Himself to us all differently and I'm thankful to be able to see Him and experience Him through the love and eyes of our kids.
Here are some questions you can bring up at the dinner table, in the car, or right before bed.
- What is your favorite miracle you've learned about Jesus?
- What would you have said if you were able to go see baby Jesus in the manger?
- What has God done for you today?
I'll share with you a few of my favorite answers from last week:
"What does God look like?"
- "a "ginormous" field of big, tall flowers"
- "an old man with a long, long beard"
- "brand new babies"
- "people who love Him"
- "He has long hair, a mustache, and a beard. God wears sandals. But, Jesus doesn't wear coats when He gets cold."
These kids are wise, observant and so eager to talk about what they love most about God. I'm so excited for you to see this video AND for us to continue to see the Holy Spirit at work through our sweet children.
